Structural Integration and Rolfing

I posted an article onthe concepts of Structural Integration and Rolfing to my Onelight Massage Therapy News blog.

Don Curry contributed this fabulous article.

Asus Eee PC

I’m typing this on a black Asus Eee PC 4G. I’m loving it so far.

The hardware, while modest is quite nice. Runs Linux (albeit an outdated Xandros)? I’m sold.

Eeeuser.com is a great site to discuss and share ideas with other users.

I’m planning on getting rid of this default distro and installing something nice and lightweight.  Arch Linux is awesome. I’m waiting for the community to build me a roadmap first, though.

US Senators call for universal Internet filtering

“US senators today made a bipartisan call for the universal implementation of filtering and monitoring technologies on the Internet in order to protect children at the end of a Senate hearing for which civil liberties groups were not invited.”

Ah, yes…for the kids.

Quit Smoking

I’ve posted another contributed article to my Onelight Massage Therapy News blog.

Thanks very much to Janis Sommers for the article. Beautiful!

150 USD Laptop with Linux Preinstalled… Scam?

A Swedish company called Medison is currently offering the “Medison Celebrity“, a laptop with Fedora preinstalled…for $150 USD. Nice.

I cannot vouch for the quality of the product, or whether this is a scam or what, but…it would be nice to get one, if indeed they aren’t planning to take the money and run. The 4-6 week delivery certainly raises some red flags. Let me know if you have any information on whether or not this is legit.

STATUS: Don’t buy it.

I think you’re better off waiting for Asus’ 3ePC.

Harvard Professors Urge University to Fight RIAA

Harvard professor of law Charles Nesson and Wendy Seltzer have written a piece urging the university to fight the RIAA rather than folding to unreasonable demands.

I’m gratified to hear some voices of reason with a bit of backbone at one of these universities. The question of whether or not the law is being broken by these students is secondary to their rights as citizens and human beings.

Proactively Posting

The first contributed article has been posted to my Onelight Massage Therapy News blog. I’m hoping that it’s the beginning of the building of a useful repository of massage- and health-related articles. Check it out.

Finished!

I’ve now declared the site finished.

I fixed the .htaccess problems with help from a mod_rewrite thread on the WordPress forums. Fairly simple, actually.

I did numerous CSS updates and code edits to Scott’s beautiful blog.txt WordPress theme. I hope you like it and that all is working well.

Thanks, Scott!

Let me know if you find any bugs or issues with the updated theme.

Google Tools

I’ve now added Google Analytics and Adsense to the site.  I need to issue a few CSS fixes, but all is well.

Site Additions

I went ahead and fleshed out the base of what this site is by adding the content into the pages I had set up.

Still, this needs to be reworked.

I also made this site a bit more tightly linked with OneLight Massage Therapy. That’s good.

I’m still having problems making all the requests to this site rewrite to http://benjcurry.com, which is a bit puzzling, since as far as I can see, I’m using working code in the .htaccess…

I’ll get it. See you.
